Some nice options for centrally located Istanbul accommodation are listed below. You should book your accommodation independently and as soon as possible, given that August is peak season for tourism in Istanbul.
4- and 5-star hotels
 Note: Hotels in this category will be more expensive than usual during the first few days of the conference, due to the Formula 1 Grand Prix being held in Istanbul at the same time.

Mid-range hotels
 We recommend the Sebnem Hotel, conveniently located in Sultanahmet (the old city). When the Sebnem fills up, its owner will be happy to help you find accommodation in one of the various nearby hotels of a similar quality and price range.
Sebnem Hotel offers 30 beds in single, double, double with garden and triple rooms. It is located in historical city centre (very close to Sultan Hostel), has a wonderful panoramic view of Marmara Sea, a terrace restaurant, 24-hour hot water, central heating and fully air conditioned rooms.  Our suggested budget option is Sultan Hostel. When the Sultan fills up, we will add other options to this page. There are many other hostels located in the same neighbourhood.
Sultan Hostel offers 110 beds in single, double, and dorm rooms for EUR 12-15 per person per night. It is conveniently located in Sultanahmet, has a good reputation, a nice cafe/restaurant and rooftop terrace bar, and offers enough rooms for all our budget-level participants.
