B. New staff capacity and the DG Environment grant: According to the new workplan and budget there are three full-time staff positions to be filled in 2007 over and above Rob. This is the current run-down.

General coordinator and office manager (Kamila) Full-time Grant writer and fundraiser - Full-time (TO BE HIRED) Media / Campaigning (TO BE HIRED) Membership outreach and conference coordinator (Randy) Biketour, Carfree Day and Youth coordinator (Roeland) Publications editor and distribution (TO BE HIRED) Finance and accounting (Radka) (18225*12) - 10580 CZK really Technical and IT (Steve) Visegrad publications project coordinator (Steven??) Magazine editor (Rob) Tax adviser

All ecept Radka, Steve, Steven, Rob and the tax advisor are full time.

Questions for consideration:

1. How and where to find such people with skills?

2. We may have to hire them half way through the year because we won't have the money or even know about the grant for some months. How will this set?

3. Is the office big enough? How much would a larger office cost?

4. How disruptive would it be to activities to have 3 new people?

5. Would it be easier if some were external contractors?

6. Would we consider hiring someone in another country?

We need to continue talking about staffing for next year, defining Randy's and Kamila's tasks and assigning unassigned tasks like the resource centre.

For a start, Randy will keep a log of all the detailed stuff he does, so that we know what a person would have to do in order to replace him (for example, if he really does leave in April).
