Announcements

  • Welcome Sapi

  • A second SC meeting will take place on Sept 23.

  • We will have a management committee meeting regarding Justin's employment status now that Markus' donation for Justin's pay is finished.

  • EC Debt: Last week Randy said he might be willing to sign the financial guarantee for the EC debt. Tanja will provide all the information needed regarding the WCN financial situation to help him with his decision.

  • At 3 on Friday we will have a meeting for our tent at World Carfree day

Updates

  • WCD Evaluation: Tanja will write something to the lists to initiate a discussion on this subject the next or following week. There will be an internal and external evaluation. The ICC has been disappointed with the poor participation from outside of the ICC, and for this project to continue we need more support, interaction with the member groups and guidelines/concrete objectives how to develop WCD and WCN's & ICC's roles in it. We have spent a month working on this and don't know what the concrete accomplishment has been (Network wise). In addition, no funding has been gained in the process.

  • The ICC will send a second WCD Press Release tomorrow. The first Press Release garnered three responses to our office from the media. The wiki has been a success but this week has seen few new submissions.

  • WCD has proven to be a great way to engage new members: What should we do when we come into contact with organization that want merchandise or though other contact whether they are interested in becoming a WCN member. If there was little communication, Justin would like us to pass on e-mails to him. If we did correspond we will bring up the subject with us. Justin will send us a sample letter as a template which we could write them to.

  • According to Google Analytics the attendance to our website has significantly increased number of people visiting the WCN site. We are also surprisingly seeing visitors from countries as Iran, Libya, Indonesia and other which wasn't seen before. The bounce rate is relatively high though..
