Agenda: - Vision - European Social Forum - World Carfree Network Evropa - Carbusters #26 - Arie on board of Czech Republic - Youth Grant for Bogota conference - Steven's report on travels

- Vision - Arie put together a vision based on what we brainstormed at the meeting last week - The first part of the vision statement writes that WCN promotes "the idea of carfree planning" under the umbrella of sustainable development - Randy and Steven both found this wording too vague - we will propose sentences out of the meeting - The strategic plan at the semi-annual meeting was not completed, so we should meet again as soon as possible - We decided Wednesday, December 7, from 1 pm at Randy's house - People should think of programs as to how we can achieve our goals - We need to figure out how to meet goals and objectives

- European Social Forum - it is in Athens, Greece, in March - should we send someone? should WCN have a table there? - Arie will find out how much it costs - Arie has also volunteered to go - there will be a czech contingent going, so it will not be expensive - we need to know costs - Gandalf suggested that an EVS volunteer goes - we need to make a decision within one month or so

- World Carfree Network Evropa - many things in strategic plan hinge on us moving away from youth grants and towards DG Environment grants which are much better - If we have a European arm we could apply for these grants as once we have the audit next year we will be eligible, we would also be an international organisation, which we are not now, officially - we are still waiting for answers from Friends of the Earth Europe about there structure - Randy is contacting groups - both writing and calling by phone - to find out who has been audited and could become a potential partner of a World Carfree Network Europe - Steve is talking to CEE Bankwatch about registering as international org. in the czech republic

- Carbusters #26 - teaching the children - how to teach kids that cars aren't cool, talk to Sara Stout about it - not a "say no to cars campaign" - how to educate without being preachy - in Netherlands children learn dangers of traffic - Caledonian school lesson plan - top ten myths about the carfree movement - Member Group Profile - South African group hosting Velo Mondiale, or one of our groups in India - possible train issue - small trains, high-speed trains - globalisation of sprawl - accidents - safe routes to school

- Arie on board of Czech Republic - Arie would replace Petr Kurfurst on the board (it is difficult with Petra because he is normally not in the ICC) - Everyone agrees

- Youth Grant for Bogota conference - apply to EC European Youth Programme for a youth exchange with Latin America - three European countries and three South American countries to meet in Bogota during the conference - this could get youth from European countries to Bogota - what countries in Europe would be appropriate? Perhaps, Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary (these are new member states) - Roeland asks if it is possible to do two youth exchanges (we are already doing the bike tour)? - Arie will check on this and report back next week

- Steven's report on travels - National environment ministries - groups apply for money themselves - the Oak foundation
