Steven sick. Meeting cancelled. Christi, Kamila and Randy added announcements as follows:

Announcements:

  • Christi: The EC Youth in Action proposal was selected for granting. We should get the contract by the beginning of May and will know the amount offered when the contract arrives. We will have 1 month from the date of receiving the contract to accept the grant or withdraw the application. This means there is the possibility that we must answer the DG Education and Culture before the DG Environment has made a decision on that application. This could be a problem since we cannot accept both grants. The DG Education and Culture says that it would not be possible to accept the grant now and return it if we are offered the DG Environment grant later. I am working on getting information from the DG Environment before the deadline for answering DG Education and Culture.
  • Christi: We received email from Mobycon that the grant proposal was not approved. Although it received relatively high marks and met the minimum threshold in each category, it missed the overall threshold by 3 points. Mobycon will now discuss with us and the other partners the possibility of modifying and resubmitting the proposal for the September 28 deadline.
  • Kamila: I'm adding Easter Monday to the list of holidays observed by the office, in the Policy Manual.
  • Randy: I'm now living and working in York, UK, and all is well. I have high-speed wireless Internet now, as well as Skype and the ability to make website updates from here. We need to sort out how not to over-write each other's web changes. For now, before editing Worldcarfree.net or Autoholics.org, download the online version of the relevant pages before editing and uploading.
  • Randy: I've finalised and confirmed the participants for the September exchange in Istanbul (as well as the April-May one). It's a great group of people. I've set up a Google e-group for the exchange, and updated the www.worldcarfree.net/yiue/ page.
  • Randy: Biketour people need to know who in the office to deal with regarding bike trailer logistics and agreements.
  • Randy: I think it would be good if we went back to doing a weekly "what I've done, what I'm going to do" summary at the weekly meeting.
  • Randy: I'm wondering if we could propose individual actions for World Carfree Day on the theme of recovering from "autoholism," so that I'd be able to work on promoting that as part of the work I'm doing on the Autoholics project. Any general thoughts?
  • Christi: I will be in Dresden next Tuesday for a visa appointment.
