Celebrating WCD in Moscow

In this year more than 250 people attended the WCD bike ride that was organised in Moscow, Russia by WWF. Bicycle club members, WWF supporters, and local residents showed their support for carfree ideas– all gathering on the evening of September 22 on view point over the city at the Moscow State University. There was music entertainment on offer from several popular Russian bands including Slivki and Chelsi.

During the day, there was a bike ride that passed six streets and ended up in Neskuchny Garden, where the participants received "One Less Car" stickers and cat's eyes for bikes with the WWF logo.

WCD this year was supported of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology, as well as the Government of Moscow, which helped further the support of the event. For instance, one public transport company reduced the price of tram, trolley and bus journeys by half for the day.
